The ministry said in its statement: “In response to the directives of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Gohar Nabil, to quickly examine what was raised about the complaint of the mother of player Makari Younan, regarding his exclusion from football tests at Al-Ittihad Club of Alexandria because of his name, a committee was formed from the Youth and Sports Directorate in Alexandria Governorate, to investigate the truth of the incident and determine all its circumstances.”
The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports is investigating a shocking incident that has caused widespread uproar in recent hours, related to the expulsion of an athlete from the Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club tests, because of his name and Christian religion.
