Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy: 700 million cubic meters of gas exports to Syria. A report published by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy revealed that the country exported 700 million cubic meters of natural gas to Syria during the period from January to June 2026.
The report explained that Azerbaijani gas exports were distributed at 5.9 billion cubic meters to Europe, and 4.9 billion cubic meters to Turkey, including 3 billion cubic meters through the TANAP pipeline, 1.2 billion cubic meters to Georgia, and 700 million cubic meters to Syria.

The report indicated that Azerbaijan’s natural gas production during the first half of 2026 amounted to 25.4 billion cubic meters, distributed between 13.7 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field, 7.3 billion cubic meters from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field, 3.6 billion cubic meters produced by the “SOCAR” company, and 0.8 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field.
It should be noted that, last August, Azerbaijan began pumping natural gas to Syria through Turkish territory, using the "Kilis-Aleppo" pipeline, in a move primarily aimed at supporting the Syrian energy sector and increasing electricity production.
Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that his country had begun exporting gas to Syria, with the possibility of expanding to its neighboring countries that are witnessing a great need for gas.
