It is noteworthy that on January 3, 2026, American forces carried out a military operation in Venezuela that resulted in the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores. More than 150 aircraft participated in the operation before he was transferred to New York to face charges related to “drug-related terrorism.”
Dozens of supporters of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro gathered in front of the Federal Court in New York, to demand the release of him and his wife, Celia Flores, coinciding with the start of a new session for their trial.
The two appeared before the Federal Court for the Southern District of New York on the fifth of the same month, denying the validity of the charges against them altogether.
